Just email facilities and nothing else
The subscription charge is an annual fee for the Email Only facility. Unlike our full hosting packages, no domain name is included within the cost.
We limit the amount of data transfer you can consume within a month. The data transfer figure for Email Only accounts will be made up of any emails sent and received through our servers.
In the event you are likely to exceed your limits we will send you advanced warning emails confirming this and any additional cost.
Our ISP independent SMTP service allows your mail clients to send emails via our servers. Simply authenticate your usage against a mailbox username and password and you can send emails from anywhere in the world, and won't be reliant on your ISP's SMTP sending facilities.
To by-pass port 25 blocks or traffic re-routing, we operate with alternative ports. Sometimes these are necessary when ISP's apply shaping rules on this type of traffic.
At the heart of our business is our unique, in-house developed control panel allowing our customers to manage every aspect of their account with us with complete automation. It has been tailored to match our philosophies of simplicity, and is being continually upgraded in-line with our customers ideas and suggestions.
If you need an email address you would typically create a POP3 mailbox to collect the email. It is then the job of your mail client (eg Outlook) to download the mail to your computer, or you can view it via our webmail. If you need the email address of email@example.com then you would call your mailbox 'sales'.
IMAP mailboxes are an alternative to POP3, whereby the mail remains stored at all times on our servers. You can then connect multiple devices (eg your computer, your phone and your work laptop) to read and reply to your emails. Delete an email from your phone, and all devices reflect this deletion. 100MB mailboxes are available included in your package, but larger 1GB, 2GB, 5GB & 10GB options are available.
If you need multiple email addresses, but don't necessary need separate POP3 or IMAP mailboxes, mail forwarders can help achieve this. You can set the forwarded address to direct to a mailbox, or externally to another address (eg your personal Gmail email).
Sometimes referred to as an out of office response, you can set our system to instantly reply to someone who has emailed you. This could be used to confirm that you are unable to reply, or to simply confirm receipt.
These are best implemented where multiple staff members need to receive a copy of the same email. For example, you may have a sales@ email address which you send copies to all of your sales staff to ensure that they act as quick as they can.
Catch-all email addresses ensure that you receive email no matter what address it has been sent to. This ensures you receive emails regardless of spelling. The downside being is that spammers can make great use of this sending to firstname.lastname@example.org and you will receive it.
As an optional extra we can supply spam and virus filtering on your hosting account. This can help rid your mailbox of unwanted and potentially harmful mail. You have full control over the settings to alter sensitivity, and statistics show you just how powerful this can be.
If you are out of the office, or anywhere in the world, with an Internet connection you will be able to read and reply to emails using our webmail. We have the option of two very different interfaces to pick from.
