Dedicated Speeds
Dedicated Bandwidth

Unlike with a regular broadband connection where you can find your connection slow down at certain times of the day, leased lines supplied by CIX are not subject to such congestion. Regardless of the time of the day you should receive a consistently fast connection.

100% Service Level Agreement
100% Service Level Target Agreement

The bespoke and dedicated nature of leased lines allow us to product you with a 100% target SLA. In the event a failure occurs, regardless of the day or time, our support teams are available to speak to helping you diagnosing and resolving the issue. Should we fail to deliver resolutions within the target times, compensation is applied.

Symmetrical Speeds
Symmetrical Speeds

The majority of customers will want to choose a leased line to help improve download speeds. However, but utilising a connection offering symmetrical speeds you can open up new possibilities such as off-site backups and improved access for remote access.

Unlimited Usage
Unlimited Usage

Forget about download limits or caps, you are free to send as much data in and out of your leased line as you like, without fair usage policies kicking in. You can use as much data as you like.

Cisco Managed Router
Managed Router

With our fibre leased lines we can supply, without additional charge, a managed router. You can opt for a 'wires only' solution if you would prefer.

Low Latency
Ultra-Low Latency

Ultra-low latency provides you with the confidence to run VoIP or financial trading solutions where every packet and millisecond count. Pings to Google will often come in at less than 3ms on a 1Gb connection.

Copper or Fibre?

Explaining the Differences Between the Technology Options

Think Long Term

Think Long Term

You should think about your long term needs when selecting the technology. Copper leased lines have speeds which are ultimately dictated to by physics, and if you have a particularly long line the delivery speed may not be able to increase in the future. By contrast, fibre leased lines can grow and deliver the very highest speeds regardless of where they are delivered to. If an EFM or EoFTTC circuit does deliver the speed you need today, just make some checks with the future in mind to ensure that you if you need to double the speeds, is this possible?

Reliability

Reliability

Copper based leased lines are subject to some of the problems traditional phone lines occasionally have such as noise and exposure to the elements. Although we will always work to ensure that uptime and performance remain high, they will never match the reliability and consistency that fibre is able to achieve.

Symmetrical Speeds

Symmetrical Speeds

As cloud solutions continue to be adopted the importance of high upload speeds becomes ever more important, whether it be for VoIP, uploading backup files off-site, or sharing large attachments. EoFTTC doesn't deliver symmetrical speeds, so be sure to pay close attention to what you use the connections for now and in the future.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to Common Questions

A leased line is a dedicated circuit to your premises delivering high performance connectivity. The circuit can be used to connect to the Internet, or we can supply point-to-point links - ideal for sharing data between sites.

Increasingly businesses are becoming ever reliant on an Internet feed for their staff to work, especially as more and more applications operate external to an office, and in the cloud. A leased line can ensure that not only can the connection speed be higher than traditional broadband, it is delivered in a consistent manner (ie not slowing down at certain times of the day, based ISP or exchange contention), and most importantly backed up by rapid around the clock support with a full service level agreement (SLA). By their very nature they are very stable, and can open up new ways for your business to use Internet connectivity.

As our leased lines are dedicated fibre connections direct to your building, you should achieve the speeds you ordered.

Using fibre leased lines as an example, we deliver a bearer link to your premises. This is normally a choice between 100Mbps and 1000Mbps (1Gbps), and is the maximum speed we can deliver to your premises. To meet your needs, and keep costs low, we can choose to deliver a lower speed through it (eg 20Mbps through a 100Mbps bearer) and upgrade it to higher speeds as your requirements change. Changes to the speed will carry and administration charge and will change the on-going subscription cost.

The two addresses would be treated as separate contracts and circuits. So it's not strictly possible to 'move' a circuit, but we can look to make the process as painless as possible limiting downtime and keeping costs low. If you know that you're set to move part-way through your initial contract, make our sales team aware of this prior to ordering.

Installation times can vary depending entirely what's currently at the building, how far you are from the exchange and any additional work required. However, the key with any installaiton is communication. Our expert provisioning team will keep you up to date with order developments and keep on the toes our carriers, such as Openreach, for you, to ensure the smoothest possible installation.

All our leased lines are covered by Service Level Agreements (SLA). The SLA response times are aims to provide a resolution to a complete outage. Unlike regular broadband, which can be down for a couple of days with no compensation - leased lines tend to be fixed within a couple of hours as they are a priority connection for the carrier.

During office hours you can call our normal support desk. Outside of office hours you will be given a special number which will ring through a number of senior personnel at CIX to help you regardless of the time of day. Full instructions of what to do should an outage occur will be provided to you once your circuit is live.

Excess Construction Charges (ECC) apply then the cost to deliver a circuit to a premises exceeds what a carrier deems to be acceptable. They are determined as part of an initial survey. Each carrier is prepared to absorb ECC, to help secure the contract, and as a result, the majority of orders placed don't see them. Should ECC be applied to an order you are able to cancel the order free of charge. However, should no charge be applied, the order will continue to a delivery stage.
